Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son is 18 years old and his father has issued a termination motion for anymore financial support. There is a court date involved. My question is : Do I need to be present for this court date? I am remarried and live miles away from this court. I would rather be absent... Is this advisable?

If you agree with the request in your exes motion, you need not appear because the court can proceed by way of default. If there something about what he's requesting that Orion that you object to, you or your attorney should be present.
