Legal Question in Family Law in California

Verbal Agreement

My acquaintance of 4 years recently had our daughter. Prior to her becoming pregnant, she stated that to get pregnant she would not hold me financially liable. She now has filed for child support and threatens me on my job at least 5 times a day. She has also filed papers against the company I work for for not serving me court notice. I cannot have my livelyhood jeapordized any longer as it gets worse by the day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Verbal Agreement

This lesson will be expensive for you. An agreement waiving child support is not recognized by the court whether in writing or verbal. Seek legal advice to determine your rights and responsibilities concerning being a father to this child. You can also obtain a restraining order to stop her from harrassing you. Rethink your position on being a Daddy, I think that its the greatest thing in the world. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
