Chill out. What did your parents do when you dated someone they considered unsuitable? Probably just gritted their teeth and shut their mouths.

You may be able to get a temporary restraing order against the 18 year old if you believe that he is or will be having intercourse or other sexual contact with your daughter. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

Re: What can i do ?

I disagree somewhat with Ms. Bavar's answer. It is not a crime for an 18-year-old to be "seeing" a 14-year-old. It is only a crime if they actually have sexual intercourse, in which case the 18-year-old could be charged with either a felony or a misdemeanor at the prosecutor's discretion. The prosecutor is not obligated to file charges at all, though, especially if there is not enough evidence to support a conviction.

The law does not intervene where a parent merely disapproves of a child's dating habits. I am left to wonder how much dialogue you have had with your daughter before you considered legal recourse. A parent who does not have the kind of relationship with his/her children that facilitates such discussions should not be surprised when the children behave in ways the parent doesn't like.

Direct your daughter that she is not to see him Advise him by certified mail of your intent to take him to court if he continues and/for sure, if he has sexual relations of any kind.
