Many courts are now computerized. If you get yourself to the court in the locale in which you are interested, you can plug in the company's name in the computer. If there is no computer, you can look through the register of actions. Or, you can hire an attorney service to do it for you. They can also check other locations at a price. You can also run a "Google" search for the company name and see if you get any clues from what you find.
