Sued by neighbor for making to much noise

I am being sued for 40,000 by my neighbor ...She says I make to much noise in my Garage...I have sold my home but she still wants the money.

What is your question? You can pay $40,000, go bankrupt, or get a lawyer and fight it. If you receive a lawsuit and you don't respond in time, you lose by default, see option #1.

In order to avoid a default judgment against you, you must either negotiate a settlement of some kind with her, or litigate and defend the lawsuit. Your sale may provide an argument in your defense and negotiations, but does not negate the issue of her Complaint. These cases can be resolved quickly and cheaply, if both parties are reasonable. You may have coverage under your homeowners' insurance policy, immediately check with them. If you do, turn it over to them.
