The writ of possession can be served by taping it to the door. The sheriff will in most cases arrive sometime after 8:00 am on the date stated on the notice. If you are in the home you will be given about 5 minutes to pickup some personal items and then escorted out of the house. If no one is in the home the sheriff will give possession to the owner or owner's agent. The door locks will be changed and it is a criminal act, trespass, for you to return to the property without permission.
