Re: verbal racial harassament

If you can back up the things you allege with witnesses and evidence, then you could bring a claim of discrimination against the organization. You should promptly file a 'Complaint of Discrimination' with the Dept of Fair Employment and Housing, which is required before you can file a lawsuit. One problem is that if you work for a religious charitable organization, there may be some limitations on your ability to bring discrimination action. Fully discuss that when you try to file your DFEH 'Complaint' to see what they say applies in your situation. If you are serious about pursuing this, and you can get the DFEH to issue a Right to Sue letter, then feel free to contact me. There may be other options available to get this problem solved, in addition to suit.
