Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

i have a written agreement regarding the purchase of a vehicle. i sold a friend a car with the agreement she would pay $1000 on 9/10 and $1000. on 9/24. however, she has only paid me $600. and it was paid on 9/15. the agreement states upon default she is to surrender the vehicle and forfiet any and all $ paid to date . Shes not going to pay me, keeps giving me the run around, told me to take her to court and she willw in. I feel as thou she breached. What am i to do to prtect my investment? and how do i legally hold her accountable or get the car back without an obvious physical altercation.? I shouldnt have to go get it? she agreed to bring it back or pay and has done niether. Please help. Thanks
