Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hi

I was in the US and overstayed my visa, now I am back to my home country. In the process of submitting for immigration Canada. They want FBI Background check since I lived there more than 6 months. First, how do I get an FBI Background check done outside the US. Second, will they report my visa overstay?

Thanks

This is a matter of Canadian immigration law, not U.S. immigration law. It's immigration Canada's responsibility to inform you how to obtain an FBI check. The RCMP and other Canadian agencies have a cozy working relationship with the Dept. of Homeland Security and FBI. Consult a Canadian immigration lawyer on this issue. A U.S. attorney cannot advise you on Canadian immigration law.
