There is no set period of time for USCIS to adjudicate an I-130; but typically our practice sees adjudications take no longer than 2-3 years at the most. Your matter seems excessively long, so I would consult with an Immigration attorney so they can write a letter to USCIS to expedite an approval of the I-130.

My apologies I just re-read my previous answer to you, and I may have mislead you when I stated you need to write a letter regarding the I-130.

As your question is very open-ended as I dont know the basis of the I-130 relationship (spouse/parent etc.) you should contact an Immigration Attorney so they can advise you of your Immigration rights and how best to proceed.

What is the basis of your I-130? Who filed the I-130 for you and are you married or single? The answers to these questions will determine which family-based category you fall under. Depending on which category you are in, you must wait for your priority date to become current before you can start the process of obtaining an immigrant visa through a U.S Consulate abroad. You must submit certain documents and the petitioner's affidavit of support to the National Visa Center before you are given an appointment at the U.S. Consulate. Please feel free to contact me for a consultation and to go over this process.
