hit and run coverage

My daughter was in a hit and run accident. the other party hit her and left they had no plate on the car. and she couldnt get any info because they never stopped. she was scared and did not call the police until the next day when i told her to report it. my ins company states we have to pay our deduc. to get her car fixed we have full coverage but the deduc is 1,000 someone stated there is a collision deduc.buyback policy that is state mandated. could you please give me any information on our rights.

Ins. Code Sec. 11580.26 provides for uninsured motorist (UM) property damage (PD) coverage, and must be offered along with UM bodily injury (BI) coverage in all auto policies. If you waived the BI coverage, you don't have to be offered the PD coverage. Check your auto policy (on the declarations page) and see if you waived (and it has to be in writing) or bought the UM coverage. The UM PD coverage is essentially coverage for your deductible in cases of UM accidents.
