Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Hi,

I have purchased few domains from the list of rejected domains by .CO registrar, i found few are trademarked, now I feel i don't want to keep them after receiving a letter from Lawyer saying transfer or face legal action for one of the domains.

My questions: Is it ok to ask for cost of domain from Trade Mark owner. Or it is best to drop the domain for other domains which i have not received letter. Or how much extra is safe to ask ?

I feel selling to some one, i may end up in trouble. Dropping the domain is safe and i will be free from liability?

Regards

Babla

I think it is fair to ask for the cost of the domain. If the other company would have purchased the domain directly they would have had to pay it anyway, so you are not causing it any damage by requesting the costs back.
