Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Sued out of state

Being sued for copyright infringement in the state of Calif. for pics on my internet site. I live in Florida. I am on verge of bankruptcy and cannot afford to fly there or hire a lawyer. Received a summons in May, didn't answer due to death in family. Received court date for next month. What should I do?

You need to contact a licensed attorney right away. It may be possible to settle the action without going to court, and it may be cheaper than you think. If you have trouble finding an attorney willing to talk to you without a huge retainer, feel free to contact me.
