Legal Question in Employment Law in California

On call 24 hours

What, if any compensation or credit, am I entitled to for being on call 24/7 with a Commercial Landscaping company. Most calls have to do with emergency irrigation problems at retails stores requiring a response, at night, on weekends, etc..

Re: On call 24 hours

You're entitled to pay for any time worked on calls, OT if appropriate. You may be entitled to some minimum amount of shift pay if you are not allowed to leave home or the area when on call. You can file a claim with the Labor Commissioner for the unpaid time, and can hire counsel to help you in that claim and the hearings and trial. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing so.
