Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was just let go. I have been with the company for two years, was senior management, and was let go because of "restructuring". They offered my 3 weeks + 4.58 days. I live in California. Should I ask for more and if yes, was kind of language do I use?

Assuming you are an at-will employee and that there is no language in your employment agreement or employee handbook which requires the company to provide laid-off employees with severance, the company has no legal obligation to pay you severance, and thus no legal obligation to agree to your demand for more severance. However, no attorney can answer your question without knowing more about the circumstances of your employment and layoff. Please give me a call at (213) 381-6557 or send me an email at: [email protected] if you wish to discuss the matter further.
