Drive-time reimbursement

I wanted to know if it is legal for an employer to require an employee to drive to a job site 4 hours away, work 8 hours, and drive back another 4 hours, even if it is in a company vehicle?

If you're a non-exempt (hourly) employee and you normally report to location closer to your home, you would ordinarily be entitled to pay for these extra hours.
