Legal Question in Employment Law in California
employee harassment & diciplinary actions
I was asked to meet with my assistant managers regarding an incident tha t happened at work. I asked what is was in regards to , they said that they could'nttslk over the phone. I went to the meeting and my manager and assistant managers were present, an issue was brought up regarding what I had supposively said to another coworker approximately a month earlier. This incident was investigated by one of the asst. managers without my knowledge, and I was not allowed to know the identity of the person(s) making the accusation, for fear of ''retaliation'' to those other employees . It was also discussed that my body language was threatening and unapproachable an example was given ''standing with my arms folded''. I feel that I have to watch every step, word and ''body language'' for fear of termination. I thought that there is supposed to written documents stating who actually filed the complaint as opposed to the grapevine.
