Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Not getting paid for work.

First day of work was Aug. 4th, now it is the 23rd and still no check. They said pay dates are every 1st and 15th, still haven't received 1 cent! They have been promising me a check everyday for 2 weeks now and still haven't paid me. They haven't even made me fill out a W2 yet either! And they are supposedly a professional business? What am I supposed to do? I have bills to pay..

Re: Not getting paid for work.

Contact the Employment Development Dept. and ask if you have been listed with them as an employee, as the law requires employers do. If they say no, ask that they be audited and file a complaint with the California Labor Commission for your wages.
