Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My daughter, her boyfriend and I moved into a house about a year ago. I was never put on the lease, i just pay her rent for the room i occupy. Her and I recently had a falling out and tells me to leave the house. To keep the peace I left that night. When I went back she had changed the locks to the house and is planning on leaving my stuff outside y the street. Legally do i have any right here?? Can she legal do this, do i have any rights?? Please advise

You have the same rights as any boarder. If you paid rent for a room, it makes no difference if she owned the premises or rents them, she is legally the boarding house landlord and you are a boarder. A good starting point on figuring out your rights as a boarder is here: http://www.dca.ca.gov/publications/landlordbook/catenant.pdf
