Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

For eighteen months I was living on a friends property in my own mobile home.A renters agreement was handwritten by a relative of theirs in the beginning that basically just stated some rules while living there. The agreement voided after the first six months of living there.Three months ago, The property owners son,who has a long history of mental problems, burned my home to the ground when my son and I were away for the night.I know for a fact that this man did it, although our small-town police dept. could not give concrete proof.I have absolutely nothing left,my sixteen year old son and I lost EVERYTHING.I had no renters insurance, beleiving that the owners 77 acre property would be covered.Am I legally entitled to any compensation from this property owner or their insurance company(if they have any?)

You may be entitled to some compensation from the property owner, but it will almost certainly require that you file suit, and be ready to prove that the fire was the result of the property-owner's negligence. You should really consult with an attorney in your area as this is not a cut-and-dry case is it might seem.
