Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

i just filed my answer without realizing that I had to have the plaintiff attorney had to be personally served. It was after six stuck on the 405 when i realized that. will it be a huge deal if I have a person serve his office tmrw morning 8am and go to court so to amend the answer.... 20 year rent control tenant given ud no three day and rent refused three times. How do I countersue for malicious intent

The answer to a complaint need only be filed and served by mail within 5 days of personal service upon you. No cross-complaint is permitted to an unlawful detainer (eviction) lawsuit. You might run to the rent board and a law firm or organization that assists tenants.
