Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

A friend and I moved into an apartment my name was put on to the lease along with the lease but he was the only one that signed it, now that I'm trying to move out he tells me that I can't because we're both on the lease. Will it be difficult to remove my name from the lease? if he moves out early and breaks the lease will I be financially responsible to pay the fines or remainder of the lease?

If you did not sign or give anyone the authority to enter into a lease contract on your behalf, you should not be bound to the lease contract.

You need to speak to an experienced landlord tenant attorney that can assist you in your matter. If you are interested in speaking to one that will do just that, contact our office for a no-obligation consultation at (888) 790-5053 and/or visit our website at www.coronacalawyer.com.
