Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My tenant moved out mid-month on the last month of his lease. He had paid rent for the entire month. The keys were returned, inspection done, and security deposit returned. The new tenants were not due to move in until the first of the next month. He is now demanding that I owe him for three days that the house was accessed for cleaning before the end of the month. Do I need to pay for those days since the home was vacant and the tenant in effect terminated the lease early?

If he had a lease, he owed rent for the entire term of the lease, whether he chooses to occupy the property or not. If he abandons the premises before the lease is up, that does not entitle him to a refund.
