Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I was given a Thirty-Day Notice of Change of Monthly Rent that is dated May 02. The new rent amount is supposed to be effective June 01. Does the 30-Day Notice make the new rate effective June 01 or June 02? Since May 02 was a Sunday - does the 30-day notice actual start on the next business day of May 03? So as of June 01 wouldn't my rent still be the old amount?

The 30-days are calendar days, weekends included, however, the date on the notice does not matter. It is the date it is DELIVERED, either by postmark or hand delivery that counts. But seriously, how much difference does it make? If your rent is due on the 1st it is either due at the new rate for a whole month, or the old rate prorated for one day and then the new rate. How much to you want to pick a fight with your landlord over what cannot be much more than a large latte or two.
