Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

So I signed a contract with public storage in 2009 for a year our payments were on time every month and sometime in 2010 my mother lost her job and had to take a pay cut and public storage worked with us because of the circumstances for over a year we had 2 storage units at this specific facility then out of no where they decided they weren't going to work with anyone any longer and we made a payment with rent every month in January of this year every thing was fine and in February we made a payment on 2-11 on 2-18 of this year (7 days later) they cut the lock off our storage unit without any explanation as to why they cut the lock even though we were making payments on the unit every month when I called the customer service number they told me they didn't have the right to cut the lock until at least the 10th of march or 31 days from the last payment made on the unit what if anything can I do... they allowed the lease to be modified for over a year then out of no where decide to change the agreement again without any prior knowledge is there anything we can do about this?
