Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

The animal doctor I went to told me to euthanize my pet. They told me that they didn't think it had much time to live. I made the decision not to go ahead. She reported me to the Animal Control and Care. My pet has been alive and happy ever since. I felt disrespected for them to go call the the Animal law enforcement. She made it appear that my rabbit had little time to live. What legal retribution can I seek?

In my opinion there is very little chance that you would recover any damages in a suit against the veterinarian (and it may border on frivolous). First, you are not out any money or property. Your rabbit is happy and alive (and hopefully healthy). Secondly, the vet may have a duty to report certain situations to animal control. This may be to protect an animal, the public or himself. Third, there is no claim for someone disrespecting someone else. If there were our court system would come to a screeching halt with the number of cases. I pretty sure that almost anyone can say they felt disrespected by someone on any given day.
