Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Is this Dental Malpratice?

Hello,

My mother is currently going though many dental procedures to get her smile back. She is 63 and is missing some teeth. She has been going to her dentist once every 2 weeks to get either a root canal or post and crown work done. Everything has been going smoothly however on her visit 2 weeks ago the dentist was being ''rough'' and accidently knocked out an old post and crown she already had. She was in extreme pain after this. Taking Codine and 800mg motrin. The dentist was also supposed to find a certain root canal to do work on but said he could not find it. Then she went back this week and went to another office in the same building and ''thought'' she was being worked on by a new dentist in the same office and he found the root really fast. Then my mother told him about what happend to her the week before. And the dentist said ''that was me''.

This seems to be kind of shady to me. Can she do anything about this??

Thanks,

Liam

Re: Is this Dental Malpratice?

She should talk to the dentist office and develop an understanding of who will be working on her. If she is otherwise happy with the course of her care, it will only complicate things to get a lawyer involved.
