Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I want to know why my claim against city was denied.

My boyfriend and I both filed claims against city and both of them got denied. How can I find out the reason why? And if its worth filing a lawsuit against the city since now my boyfriend has passed away and I feel they had a part to do with his death.

Governmental entities, almost always, in my experience, deny claims. You cannot find out why, without litigation, what basis they have for denying claim. Remember you have deadlines for bringing a lawsuit after the denial of your claim.

When was it denied? You only have 6 months to file a lawsuit. How was the city liable for your boyfriend's deathand what evidence do you have? What is the claim about and which city is it against? You can email me at: [email protected]

They may have to deny for you to be able to then file a lawsuit. you may have to act very quickly an need an attorney today before you lose your rights.

Best,

Re: I want to know why my claim against city was denied.

You could check with maybe a city councilman but cities don't need a reason--they routinely deny all claims. Then you have 45 days from the date of denial to file a lawsuit. Your boyfriend's estate could do the same thing but there are strict time limits.
