Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I know that defamatory statements made during judicial proceedings are protected by absolute privileges but is it still protected even if they are dirty downright lies fabricated to intentionally to damage your credibility ?? How do you fight that in Court or can you sue them after the judicial proceeding is complete ? What are the options or are there any options ?
