Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Hello,

My tenant's daughter was tripped and fell while walking on the sidewalk. She sprained her ankle about five months ago. My tenant is trying to file a claim on my HOA. My property is a townhouse and there are common areas. Am I responsible or liable for any of the damages or HOA's insurance policy should be liable because she is claiming the sidewalk was not leveled and it's HOA's fault. What steps do I need to take, if any. Property is in California. Thanks a lot for your help.

If she fell in the common area, then the HOA is likely to be the defendant, but if it's the sidewalk in front of your property, you'll probably get sued too, if a lawsuit is filed. As a rule, personal injury lawyers will sue any party that may have some responsibility.
