Legal Question in Product Liability in California

harmful hairdryer

This is regarding a product injury incident.

I was drying my 4-year-old daughter's hair when all of a sudden she jumped out of her chair and screeched ''hot..hot'' and started crying from pain. Apparently, an external scalding screw (that is supposed to hold the anterior screen of the hairdryer in place) had fallen off and hit my daughter's inner thigh and left several burn marks (happened less than one week ago).

I emailed vidal sassoon about their hairdryer's involvement in this incident and told them that they should either discontinue that product or remodel it without any external screws that could fall off and injure someone while in use!

My question is, am I able to sue vidal sassoon for their product's injury to my daughter?

Thank you for your advice.

Re: harmful hairdryer

Seek medical attention immediately as needed. Save the hairdryer and all parts. Save the receipt, box, etc. if you have it. Do not talk to the manufacturer or store or their insurance company. Photograph the product and any burn marks or injuries. Contact an attorney experienced in products liability cases at once. I would be pleased to consult with you without charge if you like. Watch out for legal time limits and deadlines. And I am sorry this happened to you.
