Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

There is a $2000 lien on my commercial property as the result of a lawsuit. The plaintiff has literally disappeared. I can not find the woman. I need to sell my property and Title says they can not transfer title without paying off the lien. I want to pay it off but can not find the plaintiff or her attorney. Can I bond around it or WHAT?

The title company should be willing to insure around it if you leave enough in the escrow account to cover it and any related interest and expenses. That will allow you to close and then get the lien cleared. You may have to hire someone to do a skip trace to find her or her attorney.
