Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Our HOA's attorney, at the direction of the Board of Directors, has knowingly provided us with a document that has incorrect information. He is demanding that we sign it without making any changes, or else the result of our successful IDR will be thrown out, and they will begin legal action. This document is the result of an IDR session, whereby, we prevailed. The change we want to make to correct this document is minor, and can be made simply, however we cannot help but think there is some ulterior motive in their unwillingness to do so.

Have you (a) compared the letter with the Board minutes, and/or (b) called the attorney's attention to the inaccuracy (whether intentional or unintentional)? Doing these things should bring you closer to the truth.
