Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

lease

We were told we could rent month to month. We turned in a 30 day notice a few weeks ago but we need to stay now. Can we still rent month to month even though they want to rent the apartment to someone else?

Re: lease

Not unless both parties mutually withdraw the notice. That usually means never if the landlord has already relied on your notice to rent to another before you sought his mutual consent.

Re: lease

Once you gave the notice and they accepted it, you tenancy ends at the end of 30 days.
