purchasing land/homes in a 55 plus community

Under California law, can a person, under age 55, buy, but not occupy, a home in a 55 plus community?

The of the owners doesn't matter. The law governs the age of the occupants, not the owner. So if you were going to buy this play and let your children or grandkids live there, forget it.
