Is it required to attach a legal description to a Revocation of Grant Deed which is to be recorded?

No, but then there is no such thing as a Revocation of Grant Deed in California. The only way to return ownership of real property to a previous owner is for the subsequent owner to give a grant or quitclaim deed back to the prior owner, or for the prior owner to obtain and record a quiet title judgment against the subsequent owner. Those three options would all require a legal description.
