Is it better to set up a LLC corporation in Nevada if you live in California?

No. There is no advantage. There are outfits that try to tell you that because NV has lower taxes you are better off. However, if you do business in CA, you still have to register as a foreign domiciled LLC doing business in CA and pay CA taxes on all business activity that takes place in CA. So all you do is add NV fees and possibly taxes to your costs. Only if you intend to commit tax fraud and not pay your CA taxes would an NV registration help.

I agree. But you should be aware that LLC's and Corporations are very different entities. Each has advantages and disadvantages, depending on a substantial number of factors. Get advice on the best entity for your planned activities.
