Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

spliting property

I have been divorced for 10 years, we never split the property. I was incarsarated at the time I divorced. Now that I am out, I want to complete this. I am still on the deed and the loan. How do I get off the loan and get the property part of the divorce completed, it has been a long time. Is it still considered part of the divorce? Can I file the paper work on my own or do you think I need a lawyer?

Re: spliting property

You need to review the documents associated with the divorce proceedings. You also need to check title to the property. If those documents don't present a problem, you may be able to file a lawsuit for partition by sale of the property. Feel free to email me or give us a call.
