Will renewing lease early stop rent increase?

If I renew my lease before it has expired, will that stop the landloard from increasing our rent?

In California, if your landlord renews your lease, and agrees to accept the same amount of rent as you currently are paying, then, unless the lease allows for an increase at a later time, the answer would be yes. However, the landlord has the right to refuse to renew your current lease, or to insist on an increase in rent before renewing the lease.
