Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My boyfriend of 3 years passed away. No will. I had POA while he was alive. He told me to change a truck title to my name so his ex wife or kids cant have it. I did. He was the lien holder. Is it legal for me to keep the truck? He has treatened court with his snake lawyer an PI .. what do i do?

I've heard of probate lawyers, family law lawyers, constitutional lawyers, criminal lawyers, personal injury lawyers, and even real estate lawyers. I've never heard of someone being treated to a "snake" lawyer. How about getting rid of the emotional adjectives and just stating some plain decent facts?

The power of attorney expired upon your boyfriend's death, so if you transferred the vehicle to yourself after he died, it's not a valid transfer, the vehicle and the estate belongs to his probate estate and passes equally to his children.

If you transferred the vehicle to yourself before his death, then it may or may not be a valid transfer, depending on the facts and circumstances surrounding the transfer and could be subject to litigation.
