How do I get a copy of my brother's will?

I have been named as an heir in my brother's will. I received a legal notice. The hearing on the petition will be held 7/10/06, in Santa Cruz,Califoria.I live in Chicago and would like to request a copy of my brother's will,but don't know how to go about it.

It's quite easy. Either write to the lawyer handling the probate & request a copy of the will or write to the Clerk of the Probate Court and request a copy. Enclose a check payable to the "Superior Court Clerk". Leave the amount of the check blank, but JUST ABOVE YOUR SIGNATURE write in "Not to Exceed $20.00" and then sign it. Enclose a cover letter telling them what you want and a self-addressed, stamped, envelope. The address for the Court should be on the Notice that you received.
