Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Distribution of deceased heirs share

My father's living trust left six equal shares of his estate to his three biological children, one grandson and two step-children (siblings). One of the step-children just died. How is their share distributed? Does it go into the estate or to her sibling?

Re: Distribution of deceased heirs share

The trust would normally dictate how that situation would be handled. If the step-child died second, her estate would be entitled to the inheritance, which would then be distributed according to her will or by intestate succession.
