Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Just got a divorce and I have a Revocable Family Trust with my ex-wife. How do I dissolve it? The house title is my name only, and have since closed all old joint bank accounts and opened new ones in my name. Also I changed the beneficiaries on my insurance policies. What do I need to do about this old Trust?

You and your ex should sign a revocation of the trust, and also need to make new Wills (and Trust in your case since you have the real property) since your wills probably leave your estate to the old trust.

I agree. You should definitely speak with an estate planning attorney to form a new estate plan without your ex wife to ensure your wishes are met. Feel free to contact my office with any questions you may have. Good luck.
