I need to know what I have to do about property my mother gave me in San Diego Ca. My mother live with me in Houston Tx for 5yrs

You need to file something of record in the county where the land is located. If you mom gave you a deed, then you need to record the deed. If your mom gave it to you with a will you need to probate the will in where your mom died and file a copy in California. Best bet is to call the county clerk in the county and get their recomendation.

It depends how she gave it to you--by deed, or joint tenancy, or trust or will--the answer depends on that. Have an attorney review the document, and he/she can advise you regarding the steps, if any, you need to take.
