If I have existing trust and want to start fresh, can I shred all old docs and start new?

Yes, you can terminate the existing trust and start new... but, why do that? If you change the trust and start new then all the title documents in dealing with all your assets need to change also. Title now should be in your name, as Trustee, of your Trust.

It is much easier and cheaper to "restate" the Trust you have using all new terms and conditions. The restated trust is just a total amendment to the trust you already have. By doing it this way, it avoids all the work on changing title to your assets and allows your trust to be changed, as though starting anew.
