looking to do a living trust. what is the difference between a living trust and a will?

A Trust allows you to avoid going through Probate. If you have just a Will, then your Estate must go through the formal court process and included in that is the much higher expense of Probate for both fees and costs. Probate also takes at least 10 months, whereas with a Trust the successor trustee does not need court approval and has immediate control over the Trust assets.
