A Trust is just an agreement to hold and distribute your assets during your lifetime and at your death. Ordinarily you and your spouse are the trustees for your assets during your lifetime and then you appoint someone to distribute your assets upon your death in the manner that you have written out in your Trust. During your lifetime a living trust does not protect your assets from creditors. The trust will allow you to avoid Probate and the delay and costs associated with Probate.
