Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

As a Trustee for my mother's trust, and she is now deceased, is there a way to add additional trustees to it besides myself and my brother that she named when she created her trust? I only ask in case something happens to me or him before all matters are settled. And if it is possible, what are the steps to get this in motion?

The terms of the trust may allow you to appoint successor Trustees. Look in the Trustee Provisions article or section, or ask an attorney to review the document.
