Re: will- estate

You need to file either a probate or independent administration of estates action in the County where you father died. As the only child, you can be named the administrator of your deceased dad's estate.

Re: will- estate

You must open a probate of your father's estate and ask the court to appoint you as Personal Representative of the estate. Generally, a child would have priority for appointment. The piece of paper, if in your father's handwriting and signed by him, and hopefully dated as well, may be probated as his Will, you can ask the court to do so.
