Legal Question in Workers Comp in California

shoulder injury

I developed an impingement in my shoulder due to the layout of my desk and the constant reaching up to work. I reported it to my employer and they said they would look into getting a new desk. They did not report my injury. It has been over 6 months and they still have not gotten me a new desk and my shoulder is now worse. Do I still have rights even though its been so long? Can i still report my injury? Is this grounds for a lawsuit?
